Private landowners interested in this program are encouraged to contact their local land trust.
Land trusts eligible to apply:
A land trust is a not-for-profit, non-government organization established to promote the conservation of biodiversity on private land.
The Private Land Conservation Program provides funding to:
The program uses funds from the Land Stewardship Fund, under the Land Stewardship Fund Regulation, to provide grants to eligible organizations. The Land Stewardship Fund is a regulated fund, the revenue for which comes from the proceeds of public land sales.
Program applications are currently closed. Check back for the 2026-27 program intake, opening in spring 2026.
