STIP – Green Jobs, as part of the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS), provides funding to employers in the natural resources sector (e.g., energy, forestry, mining, earth sciences, and clean technology) to hire, train, and mentor youth ages 15-30 (inclusive) for up to 12 months. STIP – Green Jobs creates quality employment and skills training opportunities for youth to gain the hands-on work experience, knowledge, and skills needed for a successful transition into the workforce. In 2025-26, the Government of Canada will invest $14.2 million in contribution funding for the Program to create 470 quality employment and skills training opportunities for youth across Canada in the natural resources sector.
