Up to $20,000 for translation. Up to $2,000 for promotional expenses. You may receive a maximum amount of $44,000 per calendar year.

Description

International Translation is part of the Arts Across Canada and Abroad program. It funds the translation of Canadian literary works or dramatic works for international presentation or publication.

Eligible Applicants

Potential applicants:

  • Artistic groups
  • First Nations, Inuit or Métis groups or collectives
  • Artistic organizations
  • Supporting organizations
  • First Nations, Inuit or Métis not-for-profit organizations
  • Foreign publishers or theatres

Canadian publishers cannot apply.

Eligible Expenses

Your application can include 1 request to:

  • translate a Canadian-authored literary work into a foreign language and related promotional activities
  • translate and surtitle a Canadian-authored dramatic work into another language for foreign presentation

Ineligible activities:

  • translation and subtitling of film or video
  • translation of literary works into English or French
