All Canadian municipal governments (with the exception of Low Carbon Cities Canada (LC3) namesake municipalities; Municipal government project partners.
Achieve a minimum 30 percent GHG emissions reduction through a retrofit of a community building when compared to baseline emissions. Eligible projects may be a single comprehensive community building retrofit, or a portfolio of buildings provided the portfolio includes:
The 'Capital project: GHG impact retrofit' program accepts applications continuously. However, for projects specifically involving municipally-owned buildings, applicants should now primarily refer to GMF's Sustainable Municipal Buildings (SMB) offer, as funding for these types of buildings has transitioned to that program. This grant is now more focused on community buildings owned by municipalities or not-for-profits. Visit the official Green Municipal Fund website for specific details and guidelines.
