Indigenous Early Learning and Child Care (IELCC) – Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) │ Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC)

Up to $2 million for a project that is up to 36 months in duration.

Description

The Indigenous Early Learning and Child Care (IELCC) Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) stream supports projects that improve the quality, accessibility, and cultural relevance of early learning and child care services for Indigenous children by using Indigenous knowledge, improving training for educators, and creating tools that reflect Indigenous cultures and languages.

Eligible Applicants

Your organization must be 1 of the following types and be located in Canada:

  • Indigenous communities
  • Indigenous governments
  • Indigenous organizations

Eligible Expenses

Eligible costs can include, but are not limited to:

  • wages and employment-related costs for staff
  • overhead costs, including costs related to central administrative functions of the recipient organization that are drawn upon to support agreement activities (such as postage, printing, telephones, IT maintenance and head office support)
  • professional fees (for example, consultants, research, performance measurement, evaluation and reporting, translation and facilitation)
  • utilities
  • insurance
  • rental of premises
  • costs of project evaluations, assessments and reporting
  • disability supports for staff of the recipient, and
  • other costs that may be deemed eligible by ESDC

Deadline Date

You can apply from January 14, 2026 to March 25, 2026 at 3:00 pm, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
